Comfort All Day and Night
More room. Less noise. Happier drivers. Superior ride and handling, coupled with one of the widest and quietest cabs
in the industry, let drivers work hard and rest well.
The Cascadia® is one of the most thoroughly tested and refined Freightliner trucks ever. From bumper to back of cab, its graceful, windswept lines produce the lowest drag coefficient of any Freightliner model yet. Add to that a fuel-efficient engine, and you can count on maximized efficiency, lower operating costs and higher profits. Job well done!
|Slice Through Wind and Cut Fuel Costs
Inside the only full-scale, OEM-owned and operated wind tunnel for big rigs in North America, engineers in the facility logged more than 2,500 hours to refine and validate the Cascadia's superior aerodynamic shape. And, with its lightweight aluminum cab, the Cascadia can haul more payload, which means more revenue per load. The result: less fuel, more freight and a bigger bottom line.
|The Power of Efficient Performance
The Freightliner Cascadia and the Detroit DD15® engine were designed to work together, reaching 90% peak torque in just 1.5 seconds. BlueTec® SCR emissions technology, standard with the DD13®, DD15® and DD16® engines, provides greater fuel economy (up to 5%* for the DD13 and DD15) and extended regeneration intervals to boost engine longevity. Plus, with near-zero emissions, SCR is the first and only technology that is as good for the environment as it is for business and vehicle performance.

High performance anywhere with every element designed
& manufactured to optimize performance, reliability and durability, the Cummins® ISX15 EPA 2010 engine is a totally integrated system with near-zero emissions & uncompromised performance.
Reduce Clutch Effort
Changing gears shouldn't be a workout. With the Cascadia's hydraulic clutch system the clutch pedal is easier to engage, reducing driver fatigue. And without the noisy mechanical linkages, the cab is quieter and requires less downtime to fine-tune the system.
Calm, Cool and Collected
The Cascadia's radiator/fan is mounted to the engine producing less vibration, which equates to greater reliability. The improved fan shroud packaging allows better air flow and reduces stress to the radiator since it's no longer subject to frame twist and vibration. A large, 1625 square-inch radiator comes standard. For engines over 500 horsepower, upgrade to a 1750 square-inch radiator and get even more cooling power.
Maneuver Corners with Ease
Corners just seem wider with the Cascadia's up to 50-degree wheel cut. So, whether backing up or winding through hairpin turns, drivers have the
maneuverability to take every corner with ease.
Front Axle Suspension that Rides on Air
The optional Hendrickson AIRTEK® front axle suspension—a combination of air and leaf springs—lets drivers cruise over the road without feeling harsh bumps or dips. The stout Hendrickson STEERTEK axle cuts vibration and reduces costly tire wear. Plus, the lube-free front spring bushings require virtually no maintenance, saving time and money.
Designed to Drive On and On The Cascadia® is designed for uptime. With fewer parts, made easier to reach and service throughout the entire truck, there’s a long list of reliable components and thoughtful design details that keep the Cascadia driving on.
The state-of-the-art, dual-functioning electrical system on the Freightliner Cascadia blends new diagnostic tools with the best of traditional systems. This evolutionary design allows any technician to access diagnostics, such as engine and transmission Electronic Control Units (ECUs), with ease. It's an intelligent design that slashes downtime and repair costs.
The hood opens effortlessly and wide for fast engine access. The three-piece design of both the bumper and hood, road debris dents and dings are easily repaired. Only one part needs to be replaced or painted, which reduces labor costs. Since chassis side fairings have smaller sacrificial parts, quick release hinges, are available in mold-in color, fairing repair and replacement is less expensive and easy.
|Flexible Electrical System
Want the brake lights to come on whenever the engine brake is in use? In the past, that meant hard-wiring. But a flexible electrical system allows dealer or fleet technicians to set this and many other options to inexpensively customize the Cascadia.
Ultra-Reliable HVAC Systems
If the HVAC isn't working, drivers aren't working comfortably. The condenser in a typical AC system works under significant pressure that can wear out hoses, compressors and seals. The Cascadia HVAC system features a large condenser to reduce system pressure and increase the life of the components. The Cascadia's robust ventilation system keeps both driver and passengers comfortable.
Interior that Wears Well
Drivers log thousands of miles each month in the Cascadia, but still want it to look good for years. That's why the interior is made to last. Door sills, dashboards and other high-wear areas feature molded-in color materials, so nothing wears off. And all fabrics and surfaces are stain resistant and easy to clean.
|Style and Comfort
Cascadia® has hundreds of small, but smart comforts, like easy-to-turn handles and knobs, and bigger doors drivers can fit through easily, even when bundled up for bad weather. No yelling over cab, engine and wind noise. No sweating or shivering. No aching back. Cascadia makes it easier for drivers to stay alert and comfortable on the road.
Room to Roam
The cab of the Cascadia is genuinely roomy, with 24" between seats so drivers can really stretch out. Or stand tall with 84" of cab headroom and a towering 90" in the raised-roof sleeper. Drivers will appreciate these features, too:
- Fridge at waist level, not below the knees
- Rattle-free shelves that stay put
- Ample tie-downs and storage pockets
- Plush mattress, 40" wide x 80" long
- Tall mid-roof design with 78” at the bunk, available in 48", 60" and 72" sleeper lengths.
Go with the Flow
The entire HVAC system of the Cascadia, warm and cool, has been tested and fine-tuned. We straightened vents and eliminated joints to increase airflow. We added six class-leading dash-mounted and powerful vents near the floor, at chest level and in the sleeper for comfort at work and at rest. When it's time to sleep, the Cascadia's optional ParkSmart™ battery-powered HVAC system—located behind the driver's seat—runs on four outboard batteries, so it's not necessary to keep the engine idling for a good night's sleep. Plus, all serviceable items can be accessed without pulling the unit from the truck, allowing quicker maintenance.
Plug In and Charge Up
Drivers can't be without them to keep in touch, continue working, stay profitable on the road. No worries. The Cascadia is packed with multiple DC outlets to power driver communications: two in the center of the dashboard and two optional outlets at the base of the bunk.
Spacious and Efficient
The Cascadia's spacious interior offers a variety of durable, rattle-free cabinet, shelving, accessory and workstation options. There's room for a TV, as well as a waist-level mounted refrigerator for straightforward access. Even the roomy bunk lifts easily to access under-bunk storage. Inside the Freightliner Cascadia, there's room for everything.
|The Best Seat on the Road
Drivers come in all shapes and sizes. The seats of the Cascadia are two inches wider, taller and longer than most in the industry, for a perfect fit. Optional features include a seat-heater, swivel and three way bolster, and a tilting, telescoping steering wheel for the right fit behind the wheel. Because a comfortable driver is a productive driver.
Quiet Cab for Increased Comfort
The sound engineers of the Cascadia set a goal and reached it: minimize the noise that enters the cab. They measured in-cab noise while the engine roared. They isolated and stopped wind noise during testing in Daimler Trucks North America's revolutionary wind tunnel. They gridded off the entire interior and listened to every square inch with electronic sonar technology to track down and silence all the squeaks, rattles, hums and noises. The result: a quiet truck that reduces audible vibration frequency by 50 percent and significantly reduces driver stress and fatigue.
Better Sleep for Safer Roads
Whether behind the wheel driving or resting while a partner drives, safety is the top priority of Freightliner Trucks. Studies have shown the louder the cab, the worse a driver sleeps. This leads to slower reaction time on the road. The stiff, curved cab walls of the Cascadia reduce vibration noise, and a thick blanket of noise-dampening insulation covers everything inside the cab. So behind the wheel or asleep in the bunk, the cab—with a high level of insulation as standard—is quiet for reduced driver fatigue, improved sleep and, ultimately, safer roads.
